Traditional Pipe Ceremony & Lakota Song Practice (in Tipi)

March 29 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm EDT

The Lakota pipe ceremony, is one of the seven sacred rites where the smoke from a ceremonial pipe is used as a sacred bridge between this world and the spiritual realm, carrying prayers and offerings to the Great Spirit and the Four Directions.

The pipe is filled with tobacco and other natural herbs, no hallucinogens. Participants in the ceremony will be taught traditional Lakota songs during the 4 rounds of the ceremony.

The pipe carrier has been taught these ways and has had the responsibility of carrying his pipe since it was gifted to him in ceremony 15 years ago. The person helping to teach these songs has been part of several drum communities and has been a co-lead of a Sundance drum for 5 years.

We humbly come together in this ceremony to pray with the creator and to offer ourselves in service for the protection of grandmother earth and to try to walk this life in a good way for the betterment of all sentient beings.
