SUMMARY:Sweat Lodge Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:RSVP is required. Please read this description in its entirety. \n  \nThis is poured following Lakota traditions. All are welcome as long as come with open/positive mind and respectful heart. No prior experience is necessary. We will give an introductory talk\, review some songs and make prayer ties before going into the lodge. \n  \nPart of this ceremony is the work we do beforehand to clean and prepare the grounds. So\, please show up in work clothes and bring work gloves. Don’t worry if you are physically unable to do manual labor. There’s always a way you can help out. If you have a rake\, chainsaw\, weed whacker\, maul\, or other tools\, please bring them just in case. There will be time before the ceremony to change into your sweat attire. \n  \nThis is done with respect and in honor of the traditional ways\, to purify\, for the promotion and redemption of life and to honor and make relations with grandmother earth and our spiritual life. So\, please leave all ego and emotional baggage at home. No one person is more important than the other. This is about community and building relations thru this ceremony only. So\, please understand there is no need to bring crystals\, energy healing\, chanting or any other special gifts to add into this ceremony. We have many other events for those beautiful gifts. \n  \nThere is no charge for this ceremony\, but we will have a bowl set aside for donations if you would like to offer a donation. Any donation goes directly to purchasing materials to support the ceremony and grounds. \n  \nPlease understand that if this is your first time\, part of the teachings of this way of life our respect\, patience and generosity. So\, there may be several reasons one might be asked to offer support and pray outside the lodge. Additionally\, one person will be needed to be the firekeeper. People are also welcome to come observe and support without going into the sweat lodge. \n  \nTo go into the lodge\, please bring 1 or 2 towels and appropriate clothes to wear into lodge. Men should wear shorts and women should have long skirt and shirt covering shoulders. Traditionally\, you bring a small tobacco offering for the firekeeper and the intercessor. \n  \nCEREMONIAL MEAL: Part of this ceremony is for the community to enjoy a meal after the sweat. SUMMARY:A Community Day of Fireside Communion & Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:So often\, when communities get together\, they primarily just work on achieving their mission and mix in small talk throughout. In spiritual communities\, the approach is similar with a ceremony followed by giving thanks and hugs as each person then goes back to their individual lives until they meet again. \nBut often what is lacking in this is the opportunity to get to know each other on deeper levels. \nSo\, we want to set aside this day to get to share and more profoundly know each other. During this ceremony\, there will be themes presented\, and then each person will be given the opportunity to speak and listen from their hearts. Through this\, people will learn the art of spiritual listening. \nThis day will also include a time for singing and also a community pipe ceremony. We will also break midway through to share a meal together. So\, please bring something to contribute for the meal. \nWho is invited? This will be our first event that is not open to the public. Only community members and their loved ones are invited for this ceremony. To be considered a community member\, you must have attended at least one of our evens before. 🙂 \nIf this is you\, then we hope you will be able to join for this important event. This will help our community to get connected with our hearts and one another; making us a much more powerful collective for the greater good. \nIf the weather is nice\, part or all of this event will be held outdoors. if not\, we will move it inside. You are also welcome to bring a tent and sleep over Saturday night as we will probably keep the fire going late into the evening. \nPlease try to arrive by 8:30am so we can get started on time.
