DESCRIPTION:RSVP is required. Please read this description in its entirety.\nThis is poured following Lakota traditions. All are welcome as long as come with open/positive mind and respectful heart. No prior experience is necessary. We will give an introductory talk\, review some songs and make prayer ties before going into the lodge.\nPart of this ceremony is the work we do beforehand to clean and prepare the grounds. So\, please show up in work clothes and bring work gloves. Don’t worry if you are physically unable to do manual labor. There’s always a way you can help out. If you have a rake\, chainsaw\, weed whacker\, maul\, gloves or other tools\, please bring them just in case. There will be time before the ceremony to change into your sweat attire.\nThis ceremony is conducted with respect and in honor of the traditional ways\, to purify\, for the promotion and redemption of life and to honor and make relations with grandmother earth and our spiritual life. So\, please leave all ego and emotional baggage at home. No one person is more important than the other. This is about community and building relations thru this ceremony only. So\, please understand there is no need to bring crystals\, energy healing\, chanting or any other special gifts to add into this ceremony. We have many other events for those beautiful gifts.\nThere is no charge for this ceremony\, but we will have a bowl set aside for donations if you would like to offer a donation. Any donation goes directly to purchasing materials to support the ceremony and grounds.\nPlease understand that if this is your first time\, part of the teachings of this way of life our respect\, patience and generosity. So\, there may be several reasons one might be asked to offer support and pray outside the lodge. Additionally\, one person will be needed to be the firekeeper. People are also welcome to come observe and support without going into the sweat lodge.\nTo go into the lodge\, please bring 1 or 2 towels and appropriate clothes to wear into lodge. DESCRIPTION:Spot Energy Chakra Healing with Sharon Sirkis \nDo you have a nagging ache or pain or wish you felt more present and grounded? Come experience a fast\, effective\, and different way of healing through the use of chakra symbology. A couple attendees during this event will have the opportunity to volunteer to get on the table for a healing/insight. Sharon will also be adding some new techniques to this month’s session. \nThis event will immediately follow our 11am Singing Bowl Sound Bath Meditation. You are welcome to join for both. \nFACILITATOR BIO: Sharon Sirkis graduated from the University of MD in 1979 with a BS in Nursing. She is also a Reiki Master\, a certified Chakra Energy Healing Practitioner\, an accredited T’ai Chi Chih teacher\, a Black Belt in kenpo karate\, and a singer and firekeeper for Native American sweat lodge ceremony.\nSharon was led to study and assist with numerous classes in Chakra Energy Healing since 1998. She has also studied extensively at T’ai Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts (now MUIH)\, with Rosalyn Bruyere\, world renowned energy healer.\nSharon sees healing as a big puzzle\, and she finds that Spot Energy Chakra Healings including dialogue and insights are a much quicker and more effective piece of the puzzle. She agrees that healers are actually conduits for the energy that supports the body’s innate wisdom to heal itself\, although she considers herself to be an active contributor. SUMMARY:Sweat Lodge Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:RSVP is required. Please read this description in its entirety. \nThis is poured following Lakota traditions that were passed down to us from the elders. All are welcome as long as come with open/positive mind and respectful heart. No prior experience is necessary. We will give an introductory talk\, review some songs and make prayer ties before going into the lodge. \nPart of this ceremony is the work we do beforehand to clean and prepare the grounds. So\, please show up in work clothes and bring work gloves. Don’t worry if you are physically unable to do manual labor. There’s always a way you can help out. If you have a rake\, chainsaw\, weed whacker\, maul\, gloves or other tools\, please bring them just in case. There will be time before the ceremony to change into your sweat attire. \nThis ceremony is conducted with respect and in honor of the traditional ways\, to purify\, for the promotion and redemption of life and to honor and make relations with grandmother earth and our spiritual life. So\, please leave all ego and emotional baggage at home. No one person is more important than the other. This is about community and building relations thru this ceremony only. So\, please understand there is no need to bring crystals\, energy healing\, chanting or any other special gifts to add into this ceremony. We have many other events for those beautiful gifts. \nThere is no charge for this ceremony\, but we will have a bowl set aside for donations if you would like to offer a donation. Any donation goes directly to purchasing materials to support the ceremony and grounds. \nPlease understand that if this is your first time\, part of the teachings of this way of life our respect\, patience and generosity. So\, there may be several reasons one might be asked to offer support and pray outside the lodge. Additionally\, one person will be needed to be the firekeeper. People are also welcome to come observe and support without going into the sweat lodge. \nTo go into the lodge\, please bring 1 or 2 towels and appropriate clothes to wear into lodge. Men should wear shorts and women should have long skirt and shirt covering shoulders. Traditionally\, you bring a small tobacco offering for the firekeeper and the intercessor. \nCEREMONIAL MEAL: Part of this ceremony is for the community to enjoy a meal after the sweat.
