SUMMARY:Traditional Tea Ceremony & Pipe Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Join us for 2 great ceremonies in one! This will be the first event this year held in our 24ft tipi\, encircling a firepit. \nWe will begin with a Traditional Tea Ceremony hosted by Kristen. We will be drinking ceremonial grade tea (Tea plant\, Camellia Sinensis)\, while steeping in community and meditation. The tea ceremony sees the simple task of preparing a drink for a guest elevated to an art form\, an intricate series of movements performed in a specific order.\nThis event is great for someone that struggles with meditation\, as people find it easier to slip into meditative states with tea. Along with being deeply relaxing it’s also a joyful ceremony to be accompanied with music and poetry. Join us as we bring in the new season. \nThe Tea Ceremony will be Followed by a Pipe ceremony; following Anishinaabe traditions. There will likely be several pipe carriers sharing their pipe\, traditions and experiences as they traveled the red road. The pipe is loaded with tobacco and other local herbs. There are no drugs in the pipe. The pipe will be passed and each person will have the opportunity to pray with and (optionally) smoke it. \nSpace is limited so a RSVP is required. \nFIRST TIMERS: No prior experience necessary. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early so you can get situated. You are also welcome to walk our grounds or check out or crystal shop. \nIMPORTANT DIRECTIONS: The address is 15406 Riding Stable rd. Property is at end of 1/2 driveway into the woods. you will drive over a small stream. Please be EXTRA MINDFUL to drive slowly (5 MPH) as to not stir any driveway dust. It is a shared driveway so it’s important to respect our neighbors. Please do not stop to interact with horses. \nCOST: To help make this affordable for all\, we are not charging for this event\, however a donation is greatly appreciated to help reimburse the practioners for their time and costs and as a way to support our grounds.
